Promoting Reading Culture
Mini Library initiated with just 16 books that were contributed by the team members of Better Chitwan. Now we have more than 5000 books, supported numbers of book collection campaigns and contributed in setup of 2 Student Libraries in Chitwan.
The dwindling interest of young people in reading poses a significant obstacle to their intellectual development. Our goal is to cultivate a culture of reading among youths and expand their understanding of the world.
The Better Chitwan Mini Library is an initiative of the Better Chitwan campaign, offering access to a wide selection of books at a nominal fee of NRs 10/- for a 10-day borrowing period. To become a member, individuals can either pay an annual membership fee of Rs. 250/- or contribute books they have already read. Alternatively, a lifetime membership can be obtained by paying NRs. 1000/-.
To deter loss or misuse of books, a fine of NRs. 10/- per day is levied after the 10-day borrowing period if the book is not returned or renewed.
